One for the books.

Candice has been visiting from home for the last week so we've been playing tourist! We spent this weekend down in Miami and I got to see Miami properly for the first time too! We stayed at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa which was awesome. Our room overlooked the bay, it was so pretty. We settled into our room and then walked along the beach, found a supply shop (read:liquor store) and got what we would need for the night (read:vodka) before heading back to our room to watch the sunset. After the sun had set we caught a taxi up the beach to another hotel where we had dinner and watched an epic electrical storm.

On Sunday we utilised the $15 resort fee we had paid and spent the morning laying out at the pool being served fresh fruit, coconut or mango popsicles and infused water. 

Later in the day we walked into downtown Miami where we had some lunch and got tattoos, as you do. (Sorry mummmm. (not really)).  Some took it better than others, obviously...

Then we met up with Stephanie and Lulu to go to the Demi Lovato concert. 

And that's how one of my best ever weekends in Florida so far went.

New Smyrna Beach

I'm nearly up to date, haha! Whoops.

The weekend after we moved in to this complex I caught the train up to Daytona beach to visit Max, who was visiting friends he'd made when he lived there. It was nice to get away for the weekend and catch up on what had been happening at home haha. We ate, we swam, we walked along the beach, we got eaten alive by mosquitos, we shopped, we ate some more, we watched Pirates of the Caribbean, we got ice cream and more ice cream, and we lounged by the pool. It was great.

Homesick pt. 2

Happy Father's Day my precious Daddy. I love you and miss you more than you will ever know. I wish more than anything that I was at home with you at the moment. 

I love this photo. It makes me laugh so much. So typical for you and Mark to be on the phone, most likely working, while we're trying to have holiday haha. I guess it's just a testament to the hard workers that you both are. I love you both and I'm so grateful for you both. I wish I had the words to try explain what you both mean to me.

Homesick.

My Natty. My heart is shattered. I'm so glad you're no longer in pain but selfishly I feel robbed. Thanks for teaching me to make your special blueberry white chocolate muffins, for the priceless life lessons, for kicking my bratty teenage arse when I needed it and for the countless coffee dates. Thanks for being a rock, a role model and an inspiration in my life. I'll miss your cuddles, the dance parties on the deck after one too many drinks. I'll miss your desserts, your hilarious daily snapchats, our sing alongs and giving you shit about The Great Fiji Bread Roll Incident of 2006 and The Tragic Shrek Lolly Incident also of '06. I think @brookefrankham and I are finally starting to get over that traumatic experience. Rest easy pretty lady, I'm sure you've already found the bar and started a great party - have a drink for me. Love you millions and trillions to the moon n stars xxxx

Boat life

We spent one of our final Thursdays of summer holidays out on the boat with some friends, Sebastian was in his element fishing and Lulu was stoked to be allowed to jump of the boat and swim in the ocean. Being out on the boat definitely made me miss home.
