Fort Lauderdale

Yesterday Stephanie took the kids and some of their friends into Fort Lauderdale to an indoor playground Lollipops type thing so I spent the day exploring Fort Lauderdale on my own, and it was actually really fun. I walked through all the beach front tourist shops (which all reminded me of slightly different versions of the Jersey Shore Shore Store), I walked along the beach, which even though it was really overcast was still super busy, and then I found a Mexican restaurant called the 'Drunken Taco' where I had lunch.

Deerfield Beach

On Thursday I spent the day over at Deerfield beach with Lulu and her Dad. It's about 20 minutes NE of where we live and I loved it, it was beautiful. The atmosphere there was really relaxed and I felt like everyone there was on holiday, it was good fun!

home.

I'm in Florida, and as of 6pm last night, (like 30 hours ago incase you were wondering (I know you were)) I have been here a week. I love it. I probably chose the craziest week of the year to arrive, the kids are on Spring Break until Monday, and Stephanie, (my host mum) went to London for work first thing Tuesday morning and isn't back until tonight.

I'm alive, I'm happy and I'm well for those (two) people who were concerned haha. I'm trying to catch up on my blogging, sorry.

For anyone who cares, this is where I'm living...

I'm obsessed with my under bed drawers, they hold so much! And they hide all my crap, so hey, life's good.

Probably my second favourite feature of my room... The desk fits over my bed for any in bed studying I plan on doing which in all honesty isn't very much at all but hey, it's a novelty! Oh how I love ikea...

Lulu and I's matching wall hangings.

more New York photos...

These are some more photos from New York. I'm LOVING Florida, but man oh man do I miss these girls and New York City!

Bits and pieces...

I've finished my week at the au pair training school in Long Island, New York! I'm currently sitting in La Guardia International Airport in New York waiting for my flight down to FLORIDA! I'm so looking forward to having a decent nights sleep and some privacy!

I'm starting to realise that even though I spent the majority of my life growing up in Auckland I am still a small town girl and I'm definitely very easily entertained (I actually already knew that last part.) I'm currently sitting in a small comfy booth at my boarding gate where I will board in just over an hour (I've been sitting here for over two hours already.) I've had lunch which I ordered from my seat through a complimentary iPad and had delivered to me, and passed my time browsing the internat on the iPad.

And I just heard an airline official tell someone to "have a good day, may the force be with you!"

I forgot to take photos inside the building at the school, it was nothing fancy, but the grounds were beautiful!

We called this the Madeline house as sung the Madeline song EVERY time we went in.

I can't wait to be out of airports and to have a routine again!
