Easter isn't a looooong public holiday filled weekend here like it is at home. On Thursday the kids had 'Go to Work with Your Parents Day' - (Turns out it is actually a real thing, and not just something you see on tv) and because their mum works from home and their Dad is an ED nurse they ended up grocery shopping with Stephanie and I in the morning and then spent the afternoon playing with the other kids in the complex whose parents also work from home or are stay at home mums. On Friday the kids had the day off school for Good Friday (even though it isn't actually a public holiday here,) so they spent Friday and Saturday at their dads house.
I spent Good Friday reading by the pool and then Tiffany and I went and got our nails done, then on Saturday I did much the same and then Tiffany and I watched the first Hunger Games movie and I realised what I'd been missing out on by never seeing them haha. When I got home I got to play the Easter Bunny and put out the kids eggs to find the next morning.
Easter Sunday was definitely very different to being at home. The kids got up and found their eggs and then Stephanie went to church to sing for the choir and the kids and I went to the pool for the morning, then Stephanie and I both went to the gym around lunchtime which, ironically, was the busiest I've ever seen it, then we took the kids to Off the Wall, a large indoor trampoline playground which was heaps of fun! After Off the Wall we came home and had an Easter BBQ dinner with Tiffany and her kids. It definitely was a different Easter to what we normally do at home but enjoyable none the less!
Yesterday afternoon I went to the post office and picked up a parcel from Mum with our usual Easter eggs from home which I was pretty excited about. The kids were thrilled to have received Lindt Bunnies each too. Apparently the Easter bunny used to bring them every year when they lived in Canada but he didn't bring them this year (because we didn't find any) so that was exciting for them.
