San Francisco, baby!

Last weekend Stephanie was in Canada and the kids were at their dads so I booked some last minute flights to San Francisco to spend the weekend with Lauren who I met at the au pair school in New York. I flew out early Friday morning and arrived in San Fran in the early afternoon. I managed to negotiate the train system to make my way to meet Lauren at the station just down the road from her house without getting lost, woo! Apparently I wasn't destined to take photos this weekend (sorry mumma). On my flight from Phoenix to San Fran I tried to take some photos of some snow capped mountains and realised that I didn't have a memory card in my camera so I had to wait until I got to Pier 39 before buying a memory card and then while I was just uploading my photos to my computer now I realised all my photos after the start of Golden Gate Bridge have somehow become corrupt and I am unable to open them... Oh how fun :( I also didn't realise how cold it was going to be in San Fran, it was so nice to be cold haha! Anyway...!

So on Friday after I met up with Lauren we went out for lunch at the cutest restaurant called Chow, then we got on the bus and headed to Pier 39 to see the Sea Lions!

While we were there we found the cutest two-story Merry-Go-Round which we obviously had to ride...

The musical stairs... So much entertainment...

Then we got on the train and headed back to the airport to meet Laurens friend, Stephanie, who was spending two nights in San Fran on her way home to Australia after studying at Richmond for two semesters. We took helped her take her luggage to her hostel and then headed to The Cheesecake Factory at the top of Macys in Union Square for dinner. Macys was MASSIVE, it has its own postcode and takes up an entire block.

The view from the top of Macys, in The Cheesecake Factory...

On Saturday we met up with Stephanie at Toast for breakfast and then we headed to Golden Gate Bridge. We had really nice weather and the view was beautiful! We walked across to the first tower before heading back into downtown for lunch.

And from here on in my camera decided that I didn't need any of the photos I took... Waaaaaah :(

We then headed back to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch because we never actually had cheesecake the night before. While we were waiting for a table we went across Union Square so that I could experience Tiffany & Co. for the first time. I was in heaven. And I now have very high, expensive expectations for an engagement ring. After lunch Lauren and I wandered through downtown and did a bit of shopping before heading back to her place because we were both shattered. We ordered in food from Chows and had a Camp Rock marathon because we're mature adults. Then around 10pm I caught a taxi to the airport and caught the red eye flight home, arriving home at about midday. Then I spent the rest of the weekend at the pool with a friend warming up after being so cold in San Fran haha!
